Information for Customers
Standard Body Measurements/Sizing
Yarn Standards offers several sizing charts. These charts show Chest, Center Back Neck-to-Cuff, Back Waist Length, Cross Back, and Sleeve Length actual body measurements for babies, children, women, and men. These measurements are given in both inches and centimeters. When sizing sweaters, the fit is based on actual chest/bust measurements, plus ease (additional inches or centimeters). The chart entitled “Fit” recommends the amount of ease to add to body measurements if you prefer a close-fitting garment, an oversized garment, or something in-between.
Care of Fibers and Fabrics
Fabric University explains basic care requirements for many different fibers. It also links to tips on removal of particular stains. The Consumer Guide has links to many other types of fabric- and fiber-related information.
A Guide to Removing Grass and Other Fabric Stains. We all spend our hard-earned money on clothing that helps us look our best, so getting any kind of spill or stain on it can be extremely irritating. Luckily, there are ways you can remove those stubborn stains that should help your garments look as good as new again. [Thank you to the good neighbors at the W.B. Goodwin Community Center, who brought this most useful link to my attention! Kelly]
